LOCAL CHILDREN’S CHARITY PROVIDES BIKES TO NEEDY FAMILIES AT CHRISTMAS

RALEIGH, NC, DECEMBER 20-22, 2010: The Triangle Spokes Group, a local children’s charity which provides bicycles to children of needy families, will be giving away this years bicycles December 20th and 21st between 8:30am-3pm, and on December 22nd from 8:30am- 10:30am. The annual Give Away will be held at the Old Southern States Nissan building, located at 2407 Wake Forest Rd. Raleigh, NC 27608. This event is held in coordination with the Salvation Army.

The Triangle Spokes Group, which was founded in 2006 by Ashley Wilson and Jenn Nowalk, raise money through charity fundraisers held throughout the year, by partnering with local area business’s, such as last week’s event at the LoneRider Brewery. 100% of all proceeds collected go toward the purchase of new bicycles and safety helmets, which cost $70 each. This year, TSG was able to raise enough money to purchase a new record of 350 bikes for local area children.

“Bicycles are the most requested toy among families the Salvation Army assists, and each year there is greater demand. This year we were able to provide 350, a new TSG record,” says Jenn Nowalk, co-founder of the Triangle Spokes Group.

About Triangle Spokes Group:The Triangle Chapter of The Spokes Group was founded in 2007 by Ashley Wilson and Jenn Nowalk and modeled after the Charlotte charity of the same name that was originally created in 1994 by two Charlotte businessmen.
